Whether we like it or not, winter is here to stay. At Zimbrick Honda, we want to make sure you are safe this season. Now is a great time to do some seasonal maintenance on your vehicle to help you minimize cold weather troubles.
9 tips that can improve your safety this season:
- Antifreeze
The right antifreeze prevents corrosion in the cooling system. It is important to use the right one for your vehicle. Ask your service advisor what he would recommend. - Defrost Your Windows
Use the A/C to defrost. The cool air will dry the air and remove the moisture quicker. - Turn Your Wipers Off
Ensure your wipers are off when you turn off your vehicle. Wipers can break if forced when vehicle starts. - Replace Your Wipers
Check windshield wipers and replace if necessary. - Battery
Let your car run for 30 seconds to 1 minute when the weather is cold. It allows the battery to recover. - Trunk
Check that you have a working jack and wheel brace. - Treads
Check the condition, pressure and tread depth. Replace tires or switch out to winter or all-season tires. - Snow Removal
Make sure you have a scraper/brush in your trunk for snow removal. - Visibility
Check that all lights work and are clean.
